  4. Classes that you have to take and pass to get into the class that requires the pre req.

  5. A Pre-Requisite is a class that you have to take before you enroll in the next one.

For example, for pre-requisite if you are trying to enroll in Calculus 2, the PRE-requisite class would be Calculus 1.

A Co-Requisite is a class that you have to take at the same time as the class you are enrolling in.

For a co-requisite class say you are enrolling in a math class that has a co-requisite class also. This means you have to take the math class and the co-requisite class at the same time.

  6. Those are the requirements that you wld need before you take the class.

  7. it means you have to take those classes before you can take the class you want...for example if you want to take math 200 or higher a pre req would be like math 100.

  8. Lets say you are enrolled in a college.  A pre req means you completed high school.  Got it....

Then lets say your degree has math 101 math 102, math 103, math 201, math 202, and math 203.  The pre req for any math 200 or higher is say, geometry in high school.  Then you look back on what you did that last four years and say, hey, I did trig.  Ok, so you can skip that first year of math 101 through math 103, since that is below 200.  That is a pre req, or pre requirement for admittance into that class.

Lets say that in science you need a pre req of bio-chem for ADV-Cell.

That means you need to enroll in the class BIO-CHEM 101 even though you might be a junior in college by then.

A pre req is just something useful to remember when enrolling in classes since you need to know vital information for that class when it was taught at the previous classes.  Don't let it discourage you though, if you think you can perform well at a certain class, then by all mean, prove the system wrong.  It is not a heirarchy level by any means, it just means that someone that has completed a course in either high school or college can perform adequately or above the level at the pre-required levels.
