Help with composition of function?

How do you do f(x+h) if...

f(x)=x+1 and h(x)=x+2

f(x+h) = f(x) + f(h)....just add the two together....

= (x + 1) + (x + 2) = x + 1 + x + 2

= x + x + 1 + 2

=2x + 3

f(x+h)= (x+h)+1

       = x+x+2+1

       = 2x+3

It seems that if f(x) = 1 then h(x) = g(x) and if g(x) = 1 then h(x) = f(x). Lets test this by

trying to generate h(x) from a new f(x) and g(x). Let
