Help with concentration of Acids ?

How come that when a acid (HCL) is more concentrated it disolves (Mg) Faster??

  1. Because with a higher concentration there are more HCL particles in the solution, so there is a higher rate of collision of particles between the Mg particles and HCL particles

    If you dont know what Collision Theory is i suggest you search it lol


  2. More HCl particles are colliding with  Mg particles, and that increases the rate of reaction, the collision theory =)

  3. This is simply because more HCl molecules are present. HCl molecules react with Mg and dissolve it. The reaction would be faster when more HCl molecules present to react with Mg. The frequency of collision at a given period of time increases; the rate of the reaction increases.
