Help with concerving water!?

Question

A hurricane hits central Florida. Your family cleans and fills up one tub of water, 375 L(100 gal), to use for everything but drinking and cooking during the time you might be out of water (you will have bottled water for drinking and cooking.) Your water gets shut off for three days. How would you save and conserve water?

The well water can be preserved in bottles, and this lasts for storage of 6 months.

......well if absoultly necessary I would only use a few plants ....insted of using a bunch..........what a sec. wouldn't your family members/friends supposed to help you out?

if you boil the tub water it would be perfectly healthy to use for cooking and drinking,really that is the only thing you need water for in an emergency you need to be self contained for 3 days that is the general rule for emergency survival.Also with a hurricane comes lots of rain fall you could use the rain water you collect(during non severe wind moments)for flushing the toilet and washing up(personal hygiene)

the old Maya culture utilize a system they call (alhive) which is just a under ground container something like a small room or just a few large containers like drums that you can collect from rain water by just having your roof connected to it!!!they should be seal to prevent mosquitoes and you can used the water to flush the toilet or wash cloths or water your garden is actually very environmentally friendly if you thing about it.  And the water is far better for plants because it has minerals the potable water does not!!!  Your water bill will be cheaper is you help your surroundings!  good luck ;)
