I wear acuvue2 contacts, but they never seem to stay in. they make my eyes feel very dry and uncomfortable and they fall out a lot. are my eyes just extra dry? or could it be another problem?

and can anyone suggest a different brand?

  1. If your contacts are falling out, I'm almost positive that they're the wrong size. That brand is fine, and I wear them myself and have never experienced them falling out. Go to the eye doctor and tell them about this; again, they are probably just the wrong size. As for the dryness, just find some lubricating drops suitable for contacts (available at the drug store) and you'll be fine.

  2. Let your doctor know you are having problems.  When you had your eye exam, you had a contact lens fitting.  This determines the base curve and diameter of the contact lenses.  If the contacts move too much, the fit is probably not right.  If you are in a brand of contacts that has a high water content, they may make your eyes drier.  It sounds silly but the higher the water content of the contact, the more tears it take to keep the contacts hydrated.  If the water content is too great for your tears, the contact and your eyes will dry out.  There are so many great brands out there but your eye doctor needs to help you with this.  He/She should give you samples of the contacts to try before you buy.
