  1. try holding him tell him his dad will come back and try to distract him with caroons or a toy

  2. just be comforting .. get down on his level and talk to him.. i know you are probably extremely frustrated but the more angry and upset you are.. the more he is gonna cry.. i would suggest giving him some milk and sitting down on the couch put on some cartoons and just hold him.. talk to him. comfort him..

Trust me i know its frustrating but its either that or completely ignore him and that could be kinda harsh.

good luck hope he calms down.

  3. Give him a bath. Kids love to play in the water.  Just distract him.  Give him some ice cream or something fun.  He can sleep late tomorrow.

  4. Lay in bed with him and rub his hair, use a comforting voice and soothe him back to sleep. Don't mention anything about his dad or he will continue to cry.

  5. just talk to him. Ask him what kinds of stuff he likes and go with it. Even it you don't like the stuff pretend to.

  6. Just let the child cry it out.  There is nothing you can really do just be there when the child needs you.

  7. Same thing happened to me when I was babysitting my nephew.  The only thing that helped was letting him call his father and hearing his voice and get re assured everything was ok.  I took a little bit of time, but  it worked.
