  1. summer heeves?is allergic inflammatory condition involving the lungs low air way known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd)like asthma characterized by exercise intolerance, coughing, nasal discharge, nostril flaring, and prominent 'heave line' and wheezing its more common  South America caused by access to pasture.they believe its anitiated by exposure to allergens such as molds and results in increased mucus which closes or locks airways constriction and thickening of airway walls it is not contagious its like asthma.

  2. Well, it is an allergy, not an infection., so it is not contagious. It is in the category of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.  Ones you may know of in humans are asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema and bronchiolectasis.  It is related to pollens and is seasonal, but it is also recurrent, so it doesn't get cured.

It can be treated just like asthma can be treated, and if it is the summer pasture form of obstructive lung disease, it will only be active when the pollen is in the air.

    Hope this helps.
