Help with diet coke?

I belive that I may be addicted to diet coke (not really, but i drink way to much!) . i drink at least 2 or 3 cans of diet coke a day. i always crave it and it is my favorite. however, i've done research and it doesn't seem to be very good for you or have any benefits.

i'm no health freak, but i need to kick the diet coke habit. what are some ideas of what i can drink in place of diet coke to help?

  1. Water or green tea. You may need to ween yourself due to the caffeine. Also adding lemon or orange wedges to your beverages.

I kicked my diet coke habit about a year ago and now the thought of drinking it is really unappetizing!  I switched to plain water, which I didn't think that I would like, but I really do.  If you really want something with flavor, then I would be careful when selecting a flavored water, I think that Propel is one of the better ones.  A lot of them are just filled with tons of calories and sugars.  Also, Simply Orange Juice is REALLY good!  It does have any artificial sugars in it, just good old oranges, and it is very good.  It is in the refrigerator section at the grocery store.  Good luck!

  6. Switch to all natural juice... I did.. I was a big diet coke drinker as well... so I either drink juice  or water......

  7. diet coke is actually worse for you than regular coke because of the aspartame which causes cancer.. also when diet coke is ingested your body believes that it is regular coke and thus you still gain the weight from sugar.. this is true i learned it in psychology class

    no, i drink a lot of dr. pepper. like 6 or more cans a day. i won't drink the water where i live now because i think it's gross (industrial and chemical plants in my town, thank god it's not a long term plan, and i'm not the only one, my neighbors won't drink it either) and, i'm not a fan of bottled water. i'm seriously picky.

    try some tea, sobe makes a green tea my hubby really likes. milk, juice, kool aid, basically anything other than soda.

It'll be hard, but stop carrying around money whenever you go somewhere that sells it.  Also, experiment with different drinks that are better for you until you find one that you really like, then start drinking that.  I used to drink nothing but Diet Mountain Dew, and now I drink a ton of Lipton's Diet Citrus Green Tea and water.  Needless to say my health is a lot better, I have more energy, and I feel better about myself.  :)

    just cut it out completely. go 'cold turkey'. you'll soon not care about it. sure its a good drink, but you wont drink it like you do now.

  13. Green tea.. (Lipton has a diet version..) It is delicious and full of antioxidants.  You'll love it.. But, girl, I gotta have caffeine or I will be a walking zombie...

  14. you could try fruit juice (minute maid--not kool-aid or anything like that--natural).
