I have a HP Photosmart M425 digital camera and am using a San Disk Mediafo 256mb memory card.
Recently when taking pictures on a trip I noticed something odd whenever I turned my camera off after taking a picture. It was taking much longer than usual to save the image information. When the camera turned back on it said it could not display the image I had just taken. So I just assumed all was well and when I plugged it into my computer later it would work. Not the case, as the next time I turned my camera on, it got a "CARD HAS WRONG FORMAT" message. It says "Press OK to format card." As I'm aware, formatting a memory card deletes all the photos and that's exactly what I don't want. There are a lot of awesome photos that I'm wanting to recover.
I tried putting it in a different camera and my computer wouldn't even recognize the thing so I don't know what is going on. It recognized my regular camera with a different memory card, just not with the SD memory card.
Any help is appreciated, I really need to get these pictures. They're pretty sweet (one is of a guy in a black bear suit and myself throwing up peace signs, to give you an idea). But again thanks for whatever help anyone can offer.
