Help with directx 9.0 to load a pc game.?

Question

am tryind to load a new game on my laptop but i am getting a messege saying that i need to install directx 9.0 or higher virson..which i did ..but the messege is still there....my laptop is brand spanking new with upto grafix card and i am using windows vista!!!

i aslo tried the same game on my cousins desktop and it works absolutly perfect..

any idea why??

There are three versions of DirectX9.0 a,b, and c. If you have the wrong version the PC will detect you already have 9.0 and won't install the new version, but the game will still complain. If you have DirectX10 you may have the same problem.

I ended up uninstalling directX and reinstalling to resolve the issues. Sorry that's not much help.
