Help with dishwasher

Question

my 3 year old dishwasher seems to be stuck on the drain cycle. I had water back up into the dishwasher, i fixed main drain line out of the house, started the regular wash cycle then pushed the two buttons simultaneously to cancel and drain. the clean light came on immediately and the dishwasher continued on the drain cycle. I opend the door to stop it. When I tried to start the regular wash cycle again, it is on the drain cycle and seems to be stuck. Is this a relay gone bad or what?? Can you advise how this can be fixed. Thanks. Robert
