Help with drinkng beer?

All my mates drink beer, and they can drink it fast.

i can sip on it or a while but i cant say i love the taste, as other people do. All of my mates can just slam the beers down easily, but when i try to drink it fast i feel very sick. I then have to stop and feel left out. Is there anything i can do to become a better beer drinker? please help..

  1. taste around and find what type of beer suits you best! if you want something sweet and nutty, try a dark ale like new castle. If you want something hoppy (flowery) try an IPA. For slightly bitter go with a good german lager. For a wheaty taste try hefeweizens. And for a fruitier and wheaty beer, try belgian ales.

    You really  just have to find a style of beer that matches your tastes!

Your body is telling you something...instead of trying to make yourself sick by slamming down the beers, try either switching to a different type of drink (wine or mixed liqours) or just drink more moderately.  There's nothing wrong with being responsible, no matter what your drunkard mates say.

  3. You don't need to drink beer fast or at all for that matter to fit in. Be yourself and if you don't like "slamming" beers then don't. If your friends make fun of you or push you into doing something that makes you feel sick, then you need to find new friends.

  4. you dont need to be pounding beers... maybe you'll acquire a taste... try something simple like someone else said like coors,fosters, or tooehys

  6. I don't understand what's the rush??  Slamming any alcohol down is not good for the body.

    Are u drinking import beers? If so, the taste is usually better than domestic.  

    Don't give into peer pressure, continue sipping your beer.

I know where you are coming from..i know how the party scene gets and you feel the need to drink like a "pro" ..the best advice and smart advice would be to not force yourself to drink fast because the outcomes would be either you throwing up or feeling bad..your metabolism is just not cut out to consume large amounts of alcohol all at once..however there are some tips and tricks to help you..u can drink faster by pinching your nose while drinking the alcohol for as the smell of alcohol lets your body be aware that your drinking so by fooling your body into what your drinking will let you drink faster..another thing you can do is to instead of taking small sips take large sips and gradually take larger amounts of alcohol...but the best thing is to find a drink you like and it will be much easier for you to drink.

  8. I know how you feel. I tend to kinda sip on my beers a little too. But at the end of the day, theres 24 beers in me while others only drink 6 or 9  because they feel full.

  9. some people just aren't made out to drink beer your metabolism can have an impact on this! also they're probably drinking watered-down stuff like Coors Light or Fosters
