Help with dunking the proper jump

i do squats and other leg exercises I'm about 5'10 maybe 5'11 and i can touch the rim but when i have the ball i can barely touch the net i ran track before and went i run and jump and stuff its like I'm doing a hurdle and i know I'm not doing the jump right so whats the proper way to do it i should be dunking Or close i have very long legs I'm a very shot blocker i have the ability to dunk or close so how do i get the jump and gather right

  1. Well, it's hard to tell if you're talking about 1 or 2 foot jumping or both, but it sounds like you aren't very good at jumping when you run up to do it. If that's the case, you need to do some agility drills and plyometrics. These will help you transfer the momentum of your approach into your jump. Also keep practicing your jumps to develop better coordination.   3. well first u should try dunking with a tennis ball..then a little kids basketball..then a soccer ball..then a girls basketball..and then an actual ball. thats what helped my friend.

    it can also be that ur fingers need to be stronger to hold the ball all the way. try doin finger pushups or sumthin.
