Help with external amp on 2001 Grand Am?

we replaced the factory MONSOON head unit, but get no sound to the stock speakers and Im told its due to the external amp? whats the fix?

If it worked with the stock radio, it should work with the after-market one.  There will probably be an amp turn-on wire in the harness that needs to be connected.  If there's a blue/white wire in the adapter harness, make sure it's connected to the blue/white wire from your head unit.  If there's no blue/white wire in the harness, look for a blue wire, and connect it to your head unit's blue/white wire.  (If your head unit doesn't have a blue/white, look for a blue one).

    If you're keeping the stock speakers, you're best off keeping the stock amp in the system; but if you're replacing the speakers you should bypass the amp and connect the speakers directly to the head unit.
