Question:

Help with fixing a coax jack?

The coax jack broke off the back of my television. I have a soldering gun, but is there anything that I need to take into consideration?

(Please don't tell me to buy a new TV or call a repairman.)

Thanks!

  1. you can try to take (2) peaces of wire and run it from your UHF /VHF on the back of TV--their should be (2) screws

on the back connect the (1) wire on each one and then you have a couple of ways  --if you have a reducer laying around

--it has a cable connect on one and 2 hook up ends on the other,,,Radio Shack---or--take a cable splitter-- take (4) long pieces of wire strip the end wires stick one in the hole of splitter---the other wrap it around the outer s***w --put cable wire into splliter-run your wires from the splliter to the UHF?VHF

  2. Look at the three web pages below. They describe this repair.

Just how difficult the repair will be depends on what damage got done inside when the jack was ripped out.
