Help with french word?

I was marked on my first french gcse draft and my teacher wrote a correction which either I don't understand the word or her writing. I want to know if compoités is a word. I don't understand it and she replaced my already written maniérés with it.

If you could help I would much appreciate it.

  1. compoités and maniérés are not words.

  2. I checked a few free online translators in French, and none of them are giving me an answer that is English. So "compoités" may not be an actual French word, but a made-up word. I think your professor is wrong.

  3. compoités is not a French word.

maniérés (adjective, masculine plurial) means affected, mannered.

If you gave us the whole sentence it would really be easier to help you!!!!

  4. i don't know why she changed your word,  maniérés means manners, but i've never heard anyone say compoités , i don't think it's a word, maybe she meant to write something else, hope this helps

  5. Maybe comportés.

ln which sentence did she replace "maniérés"?

J'espère que les élèves se comporteront bien et que les professeurs seront gentils.

J'espère que les élèves se sont bien comportés et que les professeurs ont été gentils.

To behave oneself : bien se comporter.
