Ok its hard for me to do a backbend so I want the answer to help me get comfortable with that and also. I don't go to a gymnastics school but is there any way I could teach myself a back handspring and backwalkover myself? I can do a front handspring running but I can't do one just standing still. Also, please give me some stretches and other stuff that will really shed the fat and make muscle.

  1. The best way to improve back flexibility is by doing back bends. Be sure to properly warm up first as to not hurt yourself. Once your back is flexible, practice backbend from standing by walking your hands down a wall. Eventually you will not need the wall. For the balk walkover, start from a backbend, place your feet on a block or something higher than the ground and kick over. Slowly lower the block until you can do it from the floor. Now put them together and do a back walkover from standing.

For the back handspring, it is easiest to learn on a trampoline. To learn proper technique it is necessary to learn at a gym. As for the front handspring, they are not generally done from standing so you don't need to worry about that.
