Help with gamebridge set up?

I recently purchased a gamebridge device to let me record myself playing on my 360. I have instlaled the software it comes with and that seems ot work fine. The set up i have is

The gamebridge device connected by a USB lead to my laptop, Then the game bridge is has av cables coming out of it and then another lead that says S video. ( forgive me i do not understand much about names etc) anyway i connect these up to the wires on my xbox and i alos have the HD wires from my xbxo into my TV. IM playing the xbox at 720 because the gamebridge dusnt work in HD. any ideas wer im going wrong or what to do because all i have got so far is a black screen that flickers slightly??
