I'm going camping at the end of the week and need to find simple recipes I can make on one gas ring, and with ingredients that don't need to be refrigerated. Also, does anyone know if i can make jacket potatoes on a camp stove?

  1. Canned roast beef with dried veggie (Knorr) soup mix for easy stew/soup.

Canned roast beef with "hamburger helper".

    Tuna with "tuna helper".

Canned corned beef hash/Spam is easy to fry up for breakfast.

Maxwell house coffee filter bags are great for "soup pot" coffee on a single burner. Just drop in hot water like a tea bag.

"Jacket potatoes" best made in a campfire. Wash the potatoes and poke them a bit with a fork. Wrap them well in tinfoil with salt, pepper and a bit of butter. (You can do this even before you go camping). When your campfire has a good bed of ashes, bury the foil wrapped potatoes in the hot ashes at the side of the campfire. You can do this with foil wrapped corn/maize also. Cook for an hour or so. The left over potatoes are great for frying up with breakfast. I also like to slice the potatoes and add sliced onions with the butter, salt & pepper. Roast them the same way.

    Hope that helps...have fun!

  2. Kraft  Velveeta macaroni and cheese in the box, spaghetti, tuna noodle casserole,  you can do this in a skillet, cook the noodles first than mix all the ingredients  together let it simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. hope this helps
