I have a Greater Sulfur Creasted Cockatoo. A beautuful, healthy, lively, 4 yr old male. there is just one problem! He refuses to heat bird seed, and rarely eats as healthy as he should. I NEED TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM! Sometimes I will puree veggies and fruits and he will then eat them... Any suggestions?

Also does anyone know the recipe for birdie bread?

P.s. Homemade toy suggestions?

  1. the birdie bread recipe that i have is

    1. preheat oven to 375

    2. pour birdie bread contents into large bowl and blend into a batter with

1c chicken/ veggie stock or water

2 large eggs, including shell (crushed)

    2 t. safflower oil

    3. pour batter into 2 small loaf pans or a larger loaf pan. bake 25-35 min. or until toothpick comes  out clean. to make mini muffins pour batter into mini muffin tins and bake until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool to room temp. Birdie bread will keep for about a week refidgerated. For best results cut unused loaves into 2 inch cubes and freeze.

for the food act like you are eating it and maybe he will become interested. my grey loves lima's so maybe find you too's fav food.

  2. Excellent observation on your part...Try including your feathered one at sit down meals, whether breakfast/lunch or dinner...They will usually take interest in what you are consuming...Also, always offer various peop[le food to your feathered one...Just be aware of the things they should not eat, like Avacado, chocolate, caffiene, etc...
