  1. Ok I see a pattern

How do I get rid of my inconsistency?

How do i get rid of my hook?

how do i stop topping the ball?

If you practice enough to be consistant, then I see a problem that can cause all three of these .. you slide.

If you play well one day, that means you slide, but hang on enough to hit the ball well, the next day you may not hang on and hook the ball, and the next day you slide too much and top it.

Take a look at your swing on video and see how far forward your head moves in front of the ball before impact. I think you'll see something there.

What should I be able to shoot to do good on the team?

This depends on many factors .. I would say no more than mid 80's to make it. I know of places in the south where you better be around 74ish to make the freshman team, but this really depends on your golfing community.

How far should i be able to drive the ball?

This also depends on many things. For high school golf, focus on hitting it straight, about 230-250. This will be plenty far for the length courses you play.

What kind of men's clubs should i get?

Find a club that appeals to your eye, and get them fitted.

  2. WOW!  That is a list...  Consistency comes from dedication.  You need to get clubs that, a) fit your body, b) maximize your strength (i.e. steel shafts), and c) you can afford.

Practice, practice, practice, and when you get tired, practice some more.

I would love to answer your questions to the best of my opinion, but I don't have a lot of time today.

I truly hope that you reach your dream, make the team, and earn all-state for your efforts...

    Good luck bud!

  3. Yeah, GMEN!! I wd look at Clevelend Hibore irons. Also, try at a 3/4 knock down shot recently suggested to me in this group. I think you need different solutions for different areas of the game. A swing tip for a large driver will not work for a 9 iron. Good Luck!
