Question:

Help with grandmother's makeup?

I'm going to a wedding and my mom and aunt asked me to do my grandma's makeup because she likes how I do mine. I'm only 15. I have no idea how to do makeup on older women, lol. She is almost 80 years old and Asian. She looks younger, though. Any helpful advice?

  1. Start practicing applying makeup on other people now.  It's a lot harder than putting it on your own face.  Ask your mom to let you put makeup on her a few times so you can get the hang of it.  As for what type of makeup would look good on your grandma, mascara is a must.  I'm not sure what she looks like, but eye-liner may work on her (but that's a tricky one).  A more natural shade of shadow like a peach or something may be good.  Light shade of gloss, nothing too crazy, and I think she'd be set.  Ask her if you can give her a preview of what you were thinking before the wedding to make sure she likes it.

  2. just do it like you do yours.. but maybe calm it down a bit and dont do AS much as you would your self!

  3. Just try to copy your own, but on her.

  4. Only do some base, like mineral founation if you have that kind. (not those seen on tv though) & some light cheek color & lip color to match. You can even blend in some of the cheek color on her eye lid , for color matches if you don't go with a wild red or violet or something. Or just use neutral to be safe.

Only waterproof mascara , cause most women cry at weddings. & after your lip color on her, use a light lip gloss, or lip gloss only. Highlight her forehead with a dot of white, it makes your pictures look so much better, because it draws the light to your face.

  5. Use moisturizing foundation or mix a regular foundation with moisturizer.  Use cream blush in a warm shade.  Don't use anything frosted, metallic, or overly shimmery.  Fill in her eyebrows with brow powder.  Don't use pencil eyeliner because it will tug at her eyes.  Use cream eyeliner, never black, and a brush to define her eyes and mascara, but put both only on the top.  Layer a creamy lipstick in a soft neutral with a light, non shimmery lip gloss.  Keep all colors soft and warm.

  6. be easy on her you dont want to hurt her old people hurt more and i love your name
