Help with hdtv Refresh Rate?

Ok so i got a 56'Samsung Hl-t5676s and it says the refresh rate is 120..but when im watch in hd it says 60hz...anyway i can up that?

I believe that what you are seeing on the info display is the frame rate of the source material, which is mostly 60Hz. However, the set is always showing 120Hz regardless of what is coming in.
