  1. Tums or rolaids or something like that.

  2. I had it bad too when I was pregnant. while they say tums, they NEVER helped me, the only thing that did was time. I trired rolaids, tums, eating bread, drinking gingerale, all that. hopefully that works for you, but maybe its something particular you ate and you might want to stay away from that for awhile. my heartburn lasted like 5 months, but the indigestion was so bad that alone would make me sick!

  3. Vitamin D milk (while somewhat yucky) and Tums combined always helps me! =o)

  4. Only thing the doc told me to take were TUMS.  Not rolaids, they had to be Tums

  5. Tums are just ordinary antacid tablets. I'm in Australia and we have brands like Gaviscon or Mylanta- I think you should have similar ones in NZ. I'm 29 weeks pregnant, and until now I've been able to stop my heartburn by drinking half a mug of warm milk. However, now the baby is getting bigger, that's not working. At my last midwives' visit I got a goody bag, and in that was a big box of Mylanta antacid tablets, so I'm pretty sure they're fine to take while pregnant. You can just buy them at the supermarket- look in the aisle where you find painkillers and vitamins and so on. You chew three or four after eating but half an hour before bed. You can also get the liquid version, which I used to like, but the tablets seem to do the trick.

Make sure you don't lie down after eating (wait at *least* half an hour), and try not to eat too much onion, garlic or tomato- they make it much worse. At least you don't have long to go- good luck!

  6. Tums will help a little but changing your diet will be your best bet.  I found that avoiding spicy and fried food really helped me when I was pregnant.  Oh and no more fast food, that's the worst culprit.

  7. Aww that sucks huh? I use Gaviscon Foaming tablets. They taste good and don't leave a bad aftertaste like Tums. Good Luck I hope you feel better soon!

  8. Everyone says tums. Thats fine but not really when you're vomiting. Ive had Hyperemesis, heartburn and a likely hernia (have to wait till after preg to get tested) from the vomiting...

I can't really advise you as not much helps me, but try tums or another antacid. Small meals. Avoid spicy food or stuff thats hard to digest. Tomato ingredients and orange juice are bad culprits. I seem to do well with milk ingredients. It is acid (lactic acid) but maybe the fat lines your esophagus. Like when u eat spicy food that burns - it helps to drink milk (im talking outside of pregnancy)

Keep your head elevated and make sure food is digested b4 bed

  9. i get that too ... I vomit or it goes to the back of my throat and It feels like im choking ... try Tums ... and drink lots of water  oh and take the TUMS with calcium ...

If you have a doctors apointment any time soon ask him ... he may be able to prescribe something stronger if its really bad that Tums doesnt help ..

Good luck and just think you are almost done with all the symptoms

  10. Tumssssss

  11. OHHH, I feel for you, I get heartburn all the time. If you have the money go buy some Prilosec, it works great, but it's like 30 dollars. For a guaranteed quick fix mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with like a guarter cup of water, it tastes really nasty, lol, but it works. Or if you have Vinagrette dressing have some of that on salad or something, or just a little vinegar with water. I know it sounds nasty, but it sooo works. It will work immediately! Best Wishes.

  12. tums are the best.

  13. tums or pepto is always good, or you could try this. I have never tried it myself, so I dont know, but a friend of mine used to get really bad heartburn and said he would cure it almost instantly by drinking a bit of vinegar. Makes absolutely no since at all I know, but he swears by it and when he gets heartburn he takes it. When I was pregnant and had heartburn, whole milk seemed to help me pretty good and hold me over until the tums kicked in. Good luck!

  14. Try tums and a glass of water and even try a piece of dry bread it helps really good

  15. try a couple tums and a glass of nice cold milk. eat dinner early, so that way your tummy has time to digest the food before you go to bed.

  16. I would first try the tums.  You should also try sleeping with the head of the bed elevated your at least elevate the top half of your body.  Do not eat late at night or right before bed ( I know its tough because of the baby).  Also try drinking a glass of milk or eating yogurt.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  17. Take tums.

  18. Go to the store and buy some celery. Chew on the raw celery until your heartburn stops. This is an excellent, cheap fast method to increase the enzymes in your body. Best wishes, G
