Help with i pod please music won't go on to my ipod

Question

hi- i have and i pod with lots of music on it but we got a new computer and al of my old mucis erased and now i have nothing on my i pod .... so i went and tried to download new music which i did but when i put my ipod sync cord in the cpu nothing happend -so to make a long stroy short how do i fix this problem

ps.. i jsu got this i pod in december but my cousin said that my cord might be broken ,but i don't see any cuts of rips or anything on my cord it looks perfectly fine

you ipod is still "married" to your old computer, you have to specify in Itunes to unmarry from previous pc and associate with the new one, check the help file on how to do it, its very easy.
