Help with iPhone 3g pricing for current ATT customer?

i am a current ATT customer (blackjack 2) but am not eligible for an upgrade. i understand that i will have to pay a higher price, but not sure about the details. i have an unlimited txt plan and tons of minutes as part of my shared plan with the family. will i be able to just add the data plan and replace my blackjack for a 3g iphone or will i have to also add a new and different txt and voice plan?

I work for AT&T so I can help ya out. It depends how close you are to your upgrade. There is something called an exception upgrade where you can get the iphone but pay about a $100 more for it. If you are eligible for the exception upgrade then all you have to pay for is the added internet ($30) each month. So if that sounds good to you, go for it, but if not then you will have to add a new line (2 year service agreement) and get your $199 iphone that way :)
