  1. I believe the R means regular width as opposed to wide width.  Is the size 7 men or women size.  Each brand of hockey skate fits and sizes different.  Examples:Hubby wears 9 1/2 shoe--Bauer one90 skates are a 10, Tack skates were a 9.  Kids skates-daughter wears a 5, Vector skates are a 3.  Unfortunately what this means is you will need to try on the skate.

  2. Sizing varies greatly in skates and each brand fits differently. For example, my son wears a size 1-1.5 street shoe.  His hockey skates are Easton's and are a size 13. In CCM's he wears a 12 in Bauer's he wears a 1. Becaause of this variation, I always tells friends and family to find a place where they are able to try on different models and where they have the proper measuring tools to make sure you are buying the correct size. My husband is on his second pair of skates because he did not do that. He's wanting another pair because he still feels as if his current skates don't fit him as well as they could. Don't make the same mistake, get fitted and find a brand that works best for you. Ordering online isn't a problem, just be certain the skates will fit you before you actually place an order. Oh and I agree that "R" likely means regular.
