Help with immediate treatment of a stroke!?

I enterd the living room, returning from the bathroom where I was for 2 minutes, and noticed y elderly grandmother with a facial droop and difficulty communicating. I think this could be a stroke.. after calling the ambulance, what immediate steps should I take to treat her?

Keep her airway open to maintain optimal breathing.  Check pulses in her neck and arms (wrists).....

Talk to her and calm her down she must be very frightened.  Remain calm and let the paramedics do their job.
