  1. Hi Imthwlrs,

The scientific classification of the plant that we normally buy in the store is Allium (Genus) sativum (species), which is in the Family Alliaceae (related to onions, shallots and leeks).  This makes it an angiosperm (flowering plant).

Garlic is thought by most people to have originated from Asia, and is now cultivated throughout the world.  Garlic is a perennial that can grow 2 feet high or more.

It is a vascular plant (having a well-developed system of tissues to transport water, food and nutrients).

It (this species) does not grow naturally in the wild, however, in some wild areas it has become naturalized.

Garlic is easy to grow and can be grown year-round in mild climates.  In cold climates, cloves can be planted in the ground about six weeks before the soil freezes, and harvested in late spring.  Garlic plants are not attacked by pests.  They can suffer from pink root, a disease that stunts the roots and turns them pink or red.  Garlic plants can be grown close together, leaving enough room for the bulbs to mature, and are easily grown in containers of sufficient depth.

    I hope this helps.

  2. According to yahoo it is a perennial and a bulb from SW Asia. It is a kind of onion according to them, believe it or not. It is an angiosperm. It is not a gymnosperm. It is a seed plant. It is a vascular plant. Lifespan is two or more growing seasons.

  3. in my knowledge

vascular, herbaceous, angiosperms, annuals if it is cultivated but it seems perrenial in its natural habitat

the habitat: place wth tropical, little dry and few rainshower. the range esp. in downland
