Help with installation of Dish Network.?

I have dish network installed one of my TV. I need to install dish in my other room. I have a spare box without a card in it. Can i just put a splitor and install on the other box?

The "splitter" does not work on most cases unless it passes power. You will need to activate the box also. If the box is not activated it will never work, even hooked up correctly. Dish does not use splitters, they use diplexers.

I have to agree that your best bet is to call Dish. They will do it for you. You will be charged an extra $5 for the box and another $5 if it is not hooked up to a phone line. Just be aware of this so you don't freak when the tech shows up. I hope this helps, Good Luck!
