Help with iphoto?

i have a video on a disc and want to upload it into iphoto. is there anyway i can do that? thank youu

  1. iPhoto is for PHOTOs, hence the name.

    iMovie is for Video...

    It depends what kind of disc. Need more information, but here goes...

    If the disc is from a DVD based camcorder, DO NOT PUT a miniDVD IN THE SLOT LOADING OPTICAL DRIVE. You will break the drive and scratch the disc. The files are in .VOB and need to be converted to something iMovie understands. If you have an external drawer loading optical drive that can read DVDs, you can use that - you will need to rip the video using something like HandBrake.

    If the disc is a normal sized DVD or CD with video data files - the file extensions will be .avi or .mov or .mp4, among others but these are the most common - then insert the disc and copy the files over to the Mac's hard drive. If they cam from a hard drive based camcorder, you will need to translate that MPEG2 file into something iMovie can deal with.
