Question:

Help with kitty smell issues?

A stray cat in our neighborhood got pregnant, and I convinced my mom to let me bring her in and have her kittens, then wean them. She is getting spayed(and the kittens too) before we find her/them a home(don't worry, we have posted "found" ads.) They have to stay in my room because we technically aren't supposed to have pets here, and my room has poor ventilation. Now here is the tricky part. She has the worst smelling poo I have EVER!!! smelt. Everrrrr. I change her litterbox as soon as she goes unless I am in the other room or sleeping. I don't mind slight odors, ie. the smell of a stinky/wet dog or that rotten egg tap water smell and B.O. doesn't really bother me much. But this is rancid. I spray air freshener(in a direction away from the kittens) and the smell overpowers it, even after I have cleaned the litterbox and thrown the poo outside. What can I do, either by freshening up my room, her litterbox, or feeding her something to deoderize the poo? I'm worried my parents will get fed up with the smell and tell me I have to take her to the shelter or something. =/

  1. buy litter with baking soda in it like arm and hammer multi cat and then actually get baking soda and pour over clean litter.after the cat poo's put baking soda over it!

  2. Your solution to getting rid of cat litter box odors is a product called Innofresh PET odor absorber.  It is a small activated carbon odor absorber that is totally unscented and really works well to get rid of litter box odors easily without sprays and other assorted chemicals.  Definitely a good product   You can get it at www.innofresh.com

  3. Buy some kitty shampoo and give it a quick bath it worked for my cat :)
