I am writing a letter of invitation for a group of chinese people to visit my company on a trip to discuss possible business opportunities. they told me they need invitation letters, should the letter be addressed to the visiting personnels or to the Canadian Embassy in China?

Anyone know if I can find a sample of this kind of letter?

thanks for any help!

  1. You don't need any special format, just write a letter of invitation at the company name, and wrote that you invite  them in Canada to visit your factory (include date of possible visit). Of course you need to include all the details of your company (address, name, permit number ect... ) to validate your statement. Of course your signature, and chinese do like stamps, so if you can get it stamped with the date and company name or logo...

By the way be careful, China always use these business opportunities to get access to sensitive informations (industrial or commercial). they are not spies, but its a kind of tradition in China to operate like this..

  2. Look up the website of Canada Customs and Immigration and contact them. They will be able to tell you everything that you need to know in order to proceed. A few years ago, I assisted a friend in writing a letter of invitation to my friend's brother from the Philippines, and as I recall, it was rather detailed and had to include specific information which you can get from Canada Customs.
