I was watching a movie (die hard: with a vengeance) and there's this scene where there's a bomb in a school and they are evacuating everyone but some kids not knowing there's a bomb in the school decide to go into a classroom that's unlocked and just mess around but then a janitor comes by outside the door and locks it and when the kids go and try to get out the doors locked from the inside as well so I was just wondering if that would even happen so I guess my question is DO SCHOOL DOORS GET LOCKED BOTH SIDES WHEN SOMEONE LOCKS ONE SIDE?

  1. Lemon's got the right answer....by LAW, door locks in public places must be able to be opened from the inside.

  2. That's Hollywood.  NFPA Fire Code regulastions require that all doors to public buildings to be operable from the inside.  Thats what the crash bars are for.

  3. From what I've seen, you can always open the ones at school if your inside. But you'd need a key to get in. Otherwise so many kids would have been locked in over the years XD
