Ok I've been following this for around a month now:

Eating healthy, nurtitious foods, with a small treat once in a while.

Excersising daily with a morning 20 minute brisk walk(5 days a week) and an afternoon treadmill brisk walk/run for 30 mins burning 630 calories (6 days a week).

I want to tone up and lose about 20 pounds.

After a month I've so far noticed my body getting toner and little things like collarbones more apparent.

but what to do to get my clothes big for me?

(I'm 5'6 & 170 pounds around about)

  1. I just got a personal trainer and he said I needed to start weight training 3 times a week as well as all my cardio.  Muscle is supposed rev up your metabolism and hold your shape in a bit better.

  2. What's your question?? You mean what you need to do to get your clothes big for you?

I might answer back if you'll rephrase your question.

Your exercise regimen sounds good to me already BUT all you do is cardio exercises. When you lose weight, you don't only lose fat and water BUT tissues and substantial muscles in your body. I suggest you do some toning 3 times a week. Try resistance bands, they are free weights but they are really good. Do something like this for your arms http://media.sacbee.com/smedia/2008/05/0... and for the legs you can lie down and stretch it using your foot and front then back to the original position.

Since you are already eating healthy, keep it up. TRACK your calories. Avoid sugary foods and foods that are sources of simple sugars. And avoid artificial sweeteners because they make you crave more food (its a fact).

    Goodluck!

  3. The first you need to do is not give yourself a "small treat once in a while." Stick to a clean diet by eating a well balanced food to include Veggies and proteins at every meal. You should also eat fruit and starch but only one serving per day during the first 4 weeks. Try to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day. Three of which are regular meals the other 2 or 3 will be snacks. Your daily cardio is a good start so you may just need to tweak your diet. An example of the foods I ate is this:

7am - Omelet with tomato and spinach

    10:30 - 6 almonds

12 - Chicken and veggies (I use my fist as a guide for servings sizes)

3 - Small salad with 1/2 boiled egg

    6:30 - Steak with veggies

I started this diet in January and lost 20 lbs. Good luck.

  4. You need to do resistance training in circuit fashion to get toned.  Try this workout..
