Help with lost/stolen class ring?

on the ring website, whats the perfect excuse for explaining how it was lost/stolen? it says if the explanation seems legit it can be replaced. personally i left it at a graduation party and it got stolen by a drunk idiot.

Then that's what you tell them.

Anything but the truth would be fraud.  That's a crime.

Most likely you will need to file a police report. They won't just take your word. If you lie to the police, that's another crime (filing a false police report).
