Help with memorising AMEB music exam songs?

hay im doing grade 2 AMEB music theory exam in late august and i hav to memorise 3 eight bar long songs....do ya hav any tips and tricks on how to memorise them?? desperate!!

  1. Try playing your instrument, if you have one, like I do.

    or

    Draw a graph for each song, so that a high C will be higher on the graph than the low C, it works for me in memorising numbers, though I don't have to draw it out.

    or

    Sing it.


  2. i've done the exact exam in May this. What I tried to do was do trying to remember a song or part of a song (4 bars) or whatever you are able to do each day. If you keep writing it out again a couple of times you start to memorise it.

    Also if you count how many notes are in a slur- that helps. Recognise the time signatures and keys, anacrusis. Find patterns or repetition, helps as well.

    Once I remembered all three songs pretty well, everyday I wrote them out and checked it. I think you'll be able to memorise before your exam. Good Luck!!! Hope this helps.
