  1. OK no need to panic!!!

this happens to my cards too sometimes, all it is, is that the computer is still searching for the auto-play file on the card. but there is non, so the computer should pop up the window where you choose how to open the files.

OK in order to see your files, just go to my computer, and open your memory card, your files are all in there.

Now if you still want the window thing to pop up, then right click the memory card, and click on Auto Play, it should take a little bit, and pop up.

The reason it is not allowing you to safely remove your card, is because your computer is trying to open the pop up window thing.

If you are unable to get the pop up, of the computer wont let you open the files, just simply turn the computer off, remove the card, and turn it back on, log on to your account, and wait for the computer to finish loading up, and then try to stick the memory card back in. this should work, i know because it happens to me too.

Don't worry about turning the computer off, even though it tells you "you can't safely remove the card" turning the computer off, will cancel the operation to bring the pop up back up, and turn the computer off without damaging your card.

Now if you are still having problems, make sure your card reader can read that card, usually new cards are not compatible with old card readers. If this happens on other computers, then it could be the card reader, and if it happens when you use other card readers, then it is the card. But don't panic!

There is recovery software if you are unable to see the files on your card, send me an e-mail, and I'll send you the recovery software.

No need to panic ok, even if you were to delete the pictures or videos on your card, there is ways to get them back, just try not to use the card, until you get the files.

PS. use your camera as your other card reader, this usually works best, but it's slower.

  2. Reason it didn't say import pictures is because you didn't plugged your camera to the computer as to recognized it is from a camera. With the memory card in your camera plugged in the usb cord that usually comes with the camera. (Assuming you have also downloaded the software of the camera for the computer.) Make sure that the camera is on before you plugged it in (some you don't have to turn on, but turning it on, you don't have to rely on the camera going on by itself.). If there is still a problem,

by directly putting the card to the slot in the computer, you are using it like a flash drive or another memory drive. Go to my computer and look for the drive it's on (mine has f-j drive) and you can just do highlight and drag or copy and paste.
