Help with microsoft word?

I recently typed a paper for school and when I tried to attach it, it comes through as a .ink file instead of doc. why is this happening? what can i do to fix it?

  1. Try "file" "save as" and then at the bottom there should be a drop down list of what you want to save it as.  


  2. When you select the save/save as... option, after naming the file, make sure you select the proper document type you wish to save it as (file extension). There is a dropdown list, and it should be pretty obvious which format you want (such as "Microsoft Office 2003 Document" format)

  3. when you "save as" right under where u type the name in is a spot to select document type

  4. Try reinstalling microsoft word.

  5. You're attaching a shortcut to the file (shortcuts have the .lnk extension), not the file itself.  Look in the shortcut's properties (Open File Location in Vista, Find Target in XP) to find the actual file.
