If a paternity test states that the tested man might be 86% his biological father, is it still possible for the other unrelated man to be the dad?

  1. you didnt buy an internet paternity kit did you?

go to the courts where the testing is 99.99% accurate.

  2. DNA tests are like 99.99999....%  certain. if you are unsure you should test both men at the same time.

  3. Not if the other unrelated dad was tested and has little chance of being the father.  Could a sibling be the dad?  Like, could a brother have gone in and posed as the potential father?  That might explain why the results were not as conclusive.

  4. it's ONLY 86% positive...NOT 100%...so ANYTHING'S possible, he'd need to take a paternity test too.

  5. You should have anyone who is a possibility as the father of your child tested. You can't be 86% someone's parent. Maybe you should try a different place to test the DNA.

  6. I guess its 14% possible......

  7. I have never heard of a 86% test. They are 99.99%. I don't know what test you took but, i would re-test. You can do the two men at once and then you will get a 99.99% result that will say for sure who the father is.

  8. DNA tests only ever come back as 99.99% or 0%. They are either totally excluded or not, so I would suggest you get another DNA with a reputable company.
