My husband and I are planning a trip to DW in the next couple months. We have 2 younger children 3 & 5 who will be coming with us... Can anyone please lend me their advice on what is the "Must See's" and places to eat - or just general info? I'm doing my own research but I want actual tourist advice! Any help - like discounts? coupons? $$ savings while we are there will be great as well! Thanks a ton!!!

  1. You can find all that stuff on their website.

  2. I watched a show in travel channel that was all about doing disney in a budget!!

I suggest uif you plan on flying then staying at at disney hotel! they have some still-nice-but-cheap hotels (such as the POP one) where if you stay at a disney hotel you have transportation to the hotel and to the parks, meaning no rental car!

Or you could stay in a cabin at their Fort Wilderness, where you get to cook yourself from food you get at the supermarket. Also, there are meal plans that seem to save a bunch of money.  Because eating out is one of the greatest expenses, so look for those.

As for in the parks, defiantly get a park hopper, that way you get more time for your money. And also take advantages of the fast passes (but for the better rides the fast passes run out, so be prepared to go straight for the best rides right in the morning, especially the safari at animal kingdom because thats when the animals are awake)

And there is a thing such as a ride swap, where one adult waits in line with a child while the other waits with the other child because one child doesnt want to ride. When the two get to the front of the line ask for a ride swap ticket, which means after the ride the other adult can then take the kid on the ride again without waiting in line, so that both parents get to ride and only have to wait in line once! isnt disney awesome!?!

dont forget to see the  Lion King show in Animal Kingdom! and all of the 3d shows!! Our family has never had a problem getting to all the rides in 2 parks in one day, but we go there a lot and know the tricks =] So hopefully i helped =]

Oh and also, the best time of year to go is the off season, early december, it isnt crowded and the weather is nicer so the kids wont get tired so fast.

AND hahaha giving the kids a budget of one item as a souvenir  is a great idea, because theyre happy and learn about budgeting at the same time =] But i suggest not buying things at the park and instead at downtown disney because then they wont later see something else they want, and everything sold at the parks is at downtown disney, so tell the kids to wait until the end of the vacation at your downtown disney trip =]

  3. If you are going to stay at a value resort--stay at Pop Century.  All-Stars have a horrible bus system.

Check out the dining plan. I love it. It makes life simple, and I feel that I always save money.

Here are the must-sees that both kids can enjoy:

    Magic Kingdom:

    1. ) everything in Fantasyland, EXCEPT Snow Whites Scary Adventures (too scary).

2.) Tommorwland: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Tommorland Transit Authority (great 10 min. cool-down break for parents and kids love it!), Monsters Inc. laugh floor

3.) Adventureland: Aladdin's flying carpet ride

    4.) Everything in Toon Town

    Epcot:

1.) Living Seas with Nemo & Friends: ride in clam shells to find Nemo, huge aquarium, Turtle Talk with Crush (DON'T MISS THIS)

2.) Journey into Imaination with Figment: ride and games afterward

3.) Kidcot fun stations in each country

4.) Spaceship Earth (although they may not enjoy it fully)

    Hollywood Studios:

1.) Playhouse Disney Live on Stage: cutest show!

2.) Voyage of the Little Mermaid

3.) There are stage shows---beauty and the beast/hunchback

4.) Lots of character meet and greets

5.) Toy Story Midway Mania (although they may not meet height req.)

6.) Honey I Shrunk the Kids play set.

    Animal Kingdom:

    Everything except: rapids, everest, dinosaur

Your 5 year old may be able to do some of the bigger rides as well. If so, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Thunder Mountain are not that wild. I loved Space and Thunder when I was six (Spalsh didn't appear until I was at least in my teens).

    Best Character Meals:

    Crystal Palace

    Chef Mickey's

Check out all menus at: www.allears.net

    Have Fun!

  4. Allears.net is a great website, that has everything from restaurant menus, to hotel room pictures.  The best place to eat with kids, are the places that offer character breakfast lunch or dinner. My family looks at it like instead of having to wait in line throughout the park, you can get a meal and great pictures at the same time.  Crystal Palace at magic kingdom is great for breakfast, they offer Winnie the Pooh characters, at Hollywood Studios, Hollywood and Vine, was alot of fun having everything from Little Einsteins to JoJo circus. At the Contemporary, Chef Mickey is a good place to, especially if you need a break from a park.  On the disney website there is also a whole section on traveling to disney with kids.  good luck!

  5. Stay at an all star resort for cheap hotel. buy the dining plan saves a ton of money.u get restrictions on how much you can get a day but you als oget to see some dinner shows. definitely see the hoop-dee-doo revue.

  6. a good idea to do first is become a member of aaa, the price you have to pay for the membership will be more than made up by what you will save. they can also help you plan things out for every age

  7. Check out my site http://groups.yahoo.com/group/disneyworl...  It will answer all of your questions. Once you are in, go to the file section and look for what you want to know, it has every thing from packing lists to Disney World Recipes...
