....Should I take Spanish 3? I'm not going to a college that requires it. I am going to be an elementary school teacher. I know it won't make me fluent though. If I take Spanish 3, it'd be a lot more of a stressful year (already taking hard classes) and I would be an office aide if I don't take it.

So...SHOULD I take Spanish 3?

  1. it will help you a lot more even if you know little bits of spanish. spanish 3 would be a great class to take, especially for teaching. a lot of students now aren't fluent in english and knowing even bits of spanish will make you able to communicate with them. i want to speak fluently in spanish because it's a popular language.

  2. i think you should. many colleges don't require it, but they'd prefer it if you did take that class. and as a teacher, the more languages you know, the better right?

  3. It's up to you.

If you feel that you can handle it, then go for it.

If you feel like it will make your year too stressful and you won't be able to keep up with your classes, then don't.

  4. I think if would be a good idea.  Even if after college it could be useful when you become a teacher.  Not all kids speak god english, and knwoing more spanish could make you a more valuable asset to the school.  Also if you ever changed your mind about the grade you'd like to teach, it could help then too.  I would definately take it.
