Help with my LAN connection!?

So I'm having trouble connecting to my LAN connection (not the wireless connection). I plug my Ethernet cable from my modem into my Ethernet port in my computer. When I go to network connections, you can select from wireless connections or LAN connections. My problem is that there is no LAN connection to select; I can only select wireless connection. Does anyone know how I can add the LAN connection? Thanks

You need to download (from another machine or over the wireless) the drivers for your network adapter and install.

After you install the driver for the NIC you should see it in your network connection list.
