  1. How much did the vacuum you cost you? Also if you plan to get it fix see how much it is before you do it. It could be cheaper to buy a new one or used.

  2. take the roller brush and the two fitting that hold the brush in place to a vacuum cleaner parts store and replace all those parts.

check your yellow pages for a store near you.  have your make and model number with you.  there is a metal plate somewhere on that vacuum that is going to give you that information.

good luck to ya and also buy another pack of belts while your at it.

  3. i had a very similar thing happen to my old panasonic vacuume.  After putting a new belt on, the new belt actually pulled the beater bar into the side, bending the peice of plactic supporting the beater bar.  that's something that would be hard to fix so i just got a new one.

  4. It can be replaced. Either go online or find a local vacume repair shop.

  5. Unfortunately in the present age, where everything is made of plastic, it doesn't take much to get it heated up and melted.  It's most likely just the end of the agitator, and probably the complete agitator will need to be replaced which is certainly doable.   That's probably the reason the belt broke to begin with.   Most any good vac store will have one in stock or could get one in short order, should be $30 - $35, make sure to recheck the belt if you tried to use it while the agitator was nonfunctional again.   Not a bad idea to have a spare belt on hand anyway.
