I put the water in it, and then I push the button to turn it on.. and nothing happens. Do you know what's wrong?? It's been working perfectly fine since I got it, and it's only about 2 years old.

  1. If it's plugged in and nothing happenes when you turn it on, it sounds like you need a new one.  Just first make sure the recepticle is working.

  2. If it does 'Nothing' then it sounds to me like you are not getting power to the heater coil. Or the Heater coil has burned out and that would leave an open electrical circuit.

Usually these units are Chinese made and the repair costs are more than the purchase price. Being 2 years old I would venture a guess that the warranty is long gone so you won't get any help from the 'repair centers'.

You might be lucky and have a limit switch open or some other circuit interuption and a repairman might be able to restore your unit. But again, if you didn't pay a lot for it the repair will be a bit pricey.

  3. Lime and calcium deposits build up and clog the hose...fill the carafe with half vinegar, half water and run it thru, then run twice with water.

  4. Look down in there where you pour the water and make sure the hose is not disconnected.  Make sure your outlet is working, try to plug it into a different one.   Hope this helps.

  5. It may be plugged up try running pots of vinegar and water through it then finish with pure water, that should take away the lime and it will flow well.
