  1. the tube that sits on top of the impeller try lifting it and placing it back down. that should do it. or try pushing it around with your finger then place tube piece back.

  2. If you have followed all the directions and you tried everything in your power to try and get it to work, your item could be a defect, and either you should return it to the store that you bought it from and get an exchange or you should contact Tetra, and let them know what the problem is, I hope you have saved the receipt, because that is very important when you exchange the item for another.

Personally, I don't care to use Whisper, but that's the only solution that I could come up with after trying all possible ways of getting it to start. Sometimes people do end up with defective items which in most cases, people usually return it to the store, or they contact the maker of the product and let them know the problem.

Anyways, I hope that this helps, thanks for asking........................

  3. Well since it's a new tank, I'm assuming it's a new filter as well, which means it wouldn't be dirty.

Did you follow all the directions fully?

Did you fill up the filter with water after you turned it on, which makes starting it easier.

Honestly, I can't say if you're doing something wrong, cuz I don't know exactly what you did.

  4. Mine did the same thing the outher day i just gave it a smack and it worked again

  5. you can check the motor and see if large debris is in there. or you can wash the motor with running water. are you using the right kind of filter cartriges like the bio bag? because if the cartriges are small or large filter bags then it wont work use medium bags. theres a warranty though so you can return it and stuff or you just throw that one and buy a new one.

  6. What type of filter is it?

  7. That happened to me too. I had to use my finger to get the impellor going. You have to take off the siphon thingie off and then using your little finger spin the stuff underneath. Then make sure there's water before you plug it back in. It has to throw water back in that it is siphoning out. Make sure you at least hear a hum from the motor. And if your fish have babies don't let them get sucked in! :)
