  1. all you need is a textpad and of course a website that teaches it all.

    go to www.w3schools.com

  2. Best way to do that is to create a free website with Microsoft Office Live Small Business - http://tinyurl.com/olsbfree . Office Live works perfectly with a Mac (you will need to use Firefox). It provides a free online web design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. Currently, MS is offering a free domain name (i.e. yourweb.com) for the first year.

  3. A true website will cost you a monthly fee to keep up and running. If you are looking for a freebie, use something like Google Groups or Yahoo Groups. Either one is easy to begin, and for what you want, a good start. On top of the monthly fee for a website, you have domain registration costs of $20-40 per year, which if not used, you lose. Any other website (free) will have advertising on it.

  4. i love DREAMWEAVER, is very helpful and you can see the result in the same page. Of course i know a thing or two about html, but i guess you can get this program and use the visual part and the bottons,

  5. iWeb is great and all, but if you really want to get your hands dirty in the actual coding of web sites, you should learn HTML, Javascript, and PHP to make the best of your site.

http:/w3schools.com is a good site to start learning. You can also try googling for other sites.
