  1. its probably because your approaching the ball the same as u would a long iron. for the wedges play the ball in the front of ur stance and keep everything in sync. its key to keep ur head down and SLOW everything down this is a key to golf in general but short game especially. Good Luck.

  2. at impact your most likely not turning your wrists, causin it to hit the hozzle or toe.

    practice makes perfect

  3. it might because ur not folllowing through ur swing all the way or another reason is you might be letting up on the club when u hit impact

  4. Tricky question.  Essentialy a shank means you are either too close to the ball or pushing the club away at impact therefore striking the ball where the blade joins the shaft.

if it was me I would either go for a lesson or get a good short game tutorial.

You need to have +80% of your weight on your front foot at address and the ball back in your stance.   Use your shoulders and arms to execute the shot with no leg movement.

  5. You dont say what handicap you are but if you are hitting long irons with a little draw you cant be far away You cant be shanking all your wedge shots maybe a few creeping in Anyway to get rid of the dreaded shank I would spend a bit of time with a teaching pro He will normally spot whats wrong straight away Its only something simple like standing to close to the ball but if someone watches you hit some wedge shots they would see it better than you hitting the shot

  6. Since you're hitting long clubs well and shanking your wedges, most likely you are addressing the ball from too far away or you are letting the club head drag behind and opening your club face.

You could try getting closer to the ball or make an effort to bring your hands through quicker.
