  1. Don't worry about it. We've had yellow mushrooms in our potted plants for years. They just add a little color from time to time.

  2. I have had those pop up from my plants before-- funny, mine was also an aloe vera.  In my experience, it caused no harm whatsoever to the plant.  Remember that, even if you pull off the mushrooms, the fungus is still in the soil-- the mushroom is only a tiny part of the fungus.  Don't worry about it.  Personally, I think they look cool-- they add a whimsical mushroomy touch to the houseplant.

  3. Did you move the plants to another area?  Excessive dampness is attractive to mushrooms.  You could try getting rid of the soil, or if plants are too big, some of it.  Add some new soil with a little sand and make sure plants are not overwatered, sprinkle a little charcoal over the top of the soil.

  4. The funny thing is every time you pull one of those lil guys out your dumping fresh spore from the mushroom out on to the surface of the soil, effectively seeding the mushroom and guaranteeing it to reappear. If it truly bugs you I suggest you hit the local garden center for a fungicide. There are some natural products out there.

  5. All I know to tell you is that mushrooms, like other fungus, live on decaying matter--so therefore I do not think they're a threat to your living plants. Sounds interesting, but not a cause for worry.
