Junior year is about to start soon, and apparently, it is the hardest year of high school.

Next year, I plan on taking the following classes, and I was wondering if you guys can give me insights on the classes you have taken from this list. You can, I guess, give your own personal experiences, and please, give me tips. :) Also, do you think this schedule is manageable, especially if I want to keep my 4.0 GPA?

AP Physics B

AP English Lang

AP US History

AP Calculus

Viet 3

Ballet 3

Oh, and I took AP Bio last year, so I know how AP classes can be demanding..

  1. You have to understand whether or not you can handle that many AP classes. You have to base yourself on a couple of factors...

    - Am I willing to work in this class? No slacking, or refraining from work?

    - Am I knowledgeable enough to pass this course easily?

    - Do I feel as if I can do it? Basing on the single AP I took last year?

Well the point is, if your a hard worker, you can take on a lot of challenges. But you have to determine if you are that person. Yes it's a lot of work, but hey, life doesn't come easy if you want to be better then the person next to you.

  2. Taking that many AP classes can either help you or  hurt you. If your not particularity good in one subject then don't take the AP course for it. My counselor who helped me choose my classes said its best to only take 2 a year because collages only count 8 semesters of AP classes. So that would be 2 a year. If you are really good in English then take AP English. If your not good it will only hurt your GPA more. Like I am good in science so i'm taking AP chemistry but i'm not so good in history so i'm just staying with collage prep. Really taking that many AP classes means pretty much giving up any spare time you had in the past. AP classes have an estimated 2-3 hours of homework per class per night more then any other classes. Taking 4 you could expect 8-15 hour of homework which is almost impossible to thoroughly do. In my honest opinion I would drop one or two of the AP's and take collage prep ones instead
